A Night of Celebration Turns Dark
Wendy Christensen, a high school student, heads to an amusement park in Pennsylvania. She joins her boyfriend, Jason Wise, her best friend, Carrie Dreyer, and Carrie’s boyfriend, Kevin Fischer. The night is filled with excitement, marking their graduation celebration. Along with their classmates, they prepare for a thrilling ride on the Devil’s Flight roller coaster.
As they board, Wendy suddenly experiences a horrifying vision. A dropped camcorder damages the ride’s worn-out tracks. The impact causes the train’s restraints and hydraulics to fail. Chaos ensues as the roller coaster derails, killing everyone aboard.
Panicked, Wendy insists on getting off the ride. She convinces Kevin, best friends Ashley Freund and Ashlyn Halperin, alumnus Frankie Cheeks, athlete Lewis Romero, and goth couple Ian McKinley and Erin Ulmer to leave. However, Jason and Carrie remain on board. Moments later, her vision becomes reality. The ride malfunctions, killing all those who stayed.
The Pattern Unfolds
Weeks later, Kevin approaches Wendy with a grim theory. He recalls the explosion of Flight 180 and the eerie sequence in which survivors died afterward. He suspects they are facing a similar pattern.
Wendy remains skeptical—until tragedy strikes. At a tanning salon, Ashley and Ashlyn become trapped in their beds due to a freak accident. The overheating machines burn them alive, leaving Wendy shaken and convinced that Death is targeting them.
Determined to prevent more deaths, she and Kevin examine the photos Wendy took on the night of the roller coaster accident. They notice eerie clues hidden in each image, hinting at how each survivor might die.
Death’s Relentless Grip
While stopping for food, Wendy and Kevin spot Frankie Cheeks in his car. Suddenly, a runaway semi-truck crashes into their location. They barely escape, but Frankie is not as lucky. The impact sends his car’s engine flying through the windshield. The spinning fan blades slice through his skull.
The next day, Wendy and Kevin rush to warn Lewis. At the school gym, he dismisses their warnings, claiming he’s invincible. Moments later, two weights from a machine collapse onto his head, crushing him instantly.
Their search leads them to Ian and Erin, who are working at a hardware store. A series of unfortunate events occur when a forklift malfunctions. Wendy manages to pull Ian away from a deadly impalement. However, Death skips to Erin, who falls backward onto a nail gun. The gun misfires, sending multiple nails through her skull. She dies instantly.
A Race Against Time
Examining the remaining photographs, Wendy realizes the last two survivors are her sister, Julie, and her best friend, Perry Malinowski. Their faces were obscured, but now it’s clear. Wendy and Kevin rush to the local tricentennial fair, hoping to save them.
Julie is moments away from being impaled by a harrow, but Kevin intervenes just in time. However, Death is not done. Perry is struck by a flagpole, killing her instantly. The cycle continues as Wendy barely manages to pull Kevin away from an exploding propane tank.
Before they can breathe, Ian appears, filled with grief and rage. He blames Wendy for Erin’s death. In a shocking turn, Ian unknowingly saves Wendy. A cherry picker, which was meant to kill her, instead falls on him, crushing him to death.
The Final Warning
Five months pass. Wendy is aboard a subway train with her roommate Laura and her friend Sean. As she prepares to disembark, she is stunned to see Julie and Kevin boarding the same train.
Panic sets in. Wendy experiences a terrifying premonition—this train is about to crash. The impact will kill everyone onboard.
Realizing the horrifying truth, the three survivors attempt to stop the train. The inevitable looms as Death closes in once more.
