A Premonition on the Bridge
Sam Lawton is on his way to a company retreat with his colleagues. As their bus crosses the North Bay Bridge, he suddenly has a horrifying premonition. Strong winds and structural instability cause the bridge, still under construction, to collapse. One by one, his coworkers plunge to their deaths. Only his ex-girlfriend, Molly Harper, manages to make it across safely with his help.
Snapping back to reality, Sam panics. He urges Molly, his friend Nathan Sears, Peter Friedkin, Peter’s girlfriend Candice Hooper, their boss Dennis Lapman, and co-workers Olivia Castle and Isaac Palmer to leave immediately. Moments later, the bridge collapses exactly as he foresaw.
FBI agent Jim Block interrogates Sam, suspicious of his warnings. Later, at a memorial service for the victims, the survivors notice an eerie presence—coroner William Bludworth watches them closely.
Death’s Design Begins
The next day, Candice attends her gym practice. A series of freak accidents occur. She loses her grip on the uneven bars, crashes onto the mat, and snaps her spine. Death has claimed its first victim.
Isaac, unaware of the danger, visits a Chinese spa for an acupuncture session. A minor mishap turns into disaster. A heavy Budai statue falls and crushes his head. Once again, Bludworth is present. He warns the remaining survivors: if they want to escape Death, they must kill someone who wasn’t meant to die on the bridge. Doing so will transfer the victim’s remaining lifespan to them.
Meanwhile, Sam and Molly rush to save Olivia. But before they can reach her, she falls from a window during an eye surgery gone horribly wrong. Another life is lost, and Sam realizes a chilling truth—the survivors are dying in the exact order they were meant to perish on the bridge. Nathan is next.
A Desperate Escape Plan
Back at the factory, Nathan finds himself in a heated argument with co-worker Roy Carson. The dispute turns deadly when an accident causes Roy’s death. Nathan, stunned, wonders if he has unknowingly stolen Roy’s remaining time.
As the survivors grapple with their predicament, Dennis arrives to investigate Roy’s death. Without warning, a wrench flies across the room, launched by a belt sander. It strikes Dennis in the face, killing him instantly. Death is relentless.
That evening, Sam and Molly seek solace in each other. They rekindle their relationship at the restaurant where Sam works. But their peace is short-lived. Peter, unhinged by Candice’s death, bursts in. He has made his decision—he must kill to survive. His target: Molly.
The Final Confrontation
Peter draws a gun, forcing Sam and Molly to flee into the kitchen. Outside, FBI agent Block hears the commotion and rushes in, only to be shot and killed by Peter. With Block’s death, Peter believes he has secured more time.
Yet, he is still determined to eliminate Molly. A struggle ensues, and Sam fights desperately to protect her. In the end, he drives a meat spit through Peter, killing him. Unintentionally, Sam inherits the lifespan Peter took from Block.
A Twist of Fate
Two weeks later, Sam and Molly board a plane to Paris, thinking their nightmare is over. As they settle in, they overhear a heated argument between passengers—Carter Horton and Alex Browning. The flight attendant removes Alex and a few others from the plane, leaving Sam and Molly behind.
Realization dawns on Sam. The flight they boarded is Volée Airlines Flight 180. Before they can react, the plane explodes mid-air, killing them both.
Meanwhile, at Roy’s memorial, Nathan learns a disturbing truth. Roy had a brain aneurysm and was going to die soon anyway. His supposed escape from Death was an illusion.
As Nathan contemplates his fate, the landing gear from Flight 180 crashes through the roof of the bar. It crushes him instantly.
Death’s design is fulfilled.
