Blood at the Chapel

In the spring of 1999, a quiet chapel in El Paso, Texas became the setting of a brutal ambush. A woman known only as the Bride, once an elite assassin and member of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, was rehearsing her wedding. The ceremony was never completed. The chapel was stormed by her former comrades, led by their enigmatic leader, Bill. Everyone inside was shot without mercy. As the Bride lay on the floor, bleeding and broken, she revealed to Bill that she was carrying his child. Unmoved, he placed a bullet in her head.

Coma and Awakening

The bullet did not kill her. The Bride remained in a coma for four years, confined to a hospital bed and vulnerable. During this time, Elle Driver, a fellow assassin, was sent to end her life with a lethal injection. However, Bill, invoking a code of honor, called off the execution. Killing her while defenseless was, in his eyes, unjust.

One day, without warning, the Bride awoke. Her condition had changed—her pregnancy had ended, and her child was nowhere to be found. Realization turned into rage. After killing a hospital orderly who had been exploiting her unconscious body, and a man who had attempted to assault her, she commandeered the orderly’s truck. Her purpose was reborn. A list was made. At the top: Bill.

Settling Old Scores

Vernita Green, one of the former Deadly Vipers, was living a new life. Suburban comfort had replaced violent deeds. But the past did not forget. The Bride arrived unannounced, and a fierce confrontation unfolded in Vernita’s kitchen. Their duel was interrupted by the unexpected return of Vernita’s young daughter. With temporary civility restored, Vernita attempted a final act of betrayal, reaching for a hidden pistol. The Bride responded with precision. A single knife to the chest ended Vernita’s life. To the watching child, the Bride made a solemn offer—should vengeance be sought one day, she would understand.

Forging the Path

To face Bill and the remaining Vipers, the Bride needed a weapon worthy of her mission. Her journey took her to Okinawa, where she sought out Hattori Hanzō, a master swordsmith who had long since vowed to never forge another blade. Upon learning the target was Bill, his own former student, Hanzō broke his oath. A new sword was created—the finest he had ever made.

Armed with the Hanzō blade, the Bride traveled to Tokyo. Her next target was O-Ren Ishii, once a fellow assassin, now the head of the Tokyo yakuza. O-Ren’s rise had begun in childhood, born of trauma. After witnessing her parents’ murder at the hands of the yakuza, she trained as an assassin and killed the man responsible. Her place at the top was secured through blood.

The Garden Duel

The Bride tracked O-Ren to a lavish restaurant, where the final confrontation awaited. Before reaching her, the Bride sent a message. Sofie Fatale, O-Ren’s lawyer and confidante, had her arm severed in an instant. The room erupted. The Bride fought her way through O-Ren’s personal army, the Crazy 88, dismembering many and sparing few. Gogo Yubari, the teenage bodyguard armed with a deadly flail, fell in combat. Steel met steel in the restaurant’s serene garden, where O-Ren and the Bride engaged in a ritualistic duel. Precision proved decisive. O-Ren’s death was marked by a clean, lethal slice.

Sofie was spared but not forgiven. She was tortured for information regarding the remaining Vipers, then left alive as a warning. Bill would later retrieve her, asking a single, ominous question: Did the Bride know her daughter was still alive?

The Hunt Continues

The first steps of vengeance had been taken. The sword had been drawn. But the Bride’s journey was far from over. The truth behind her child’s fate had yet to be uncovered. Her enemies remained, scattered but aware. And in the distance, Bill was waiting.
