A New Role, A Familiar Purpose

Following the takedown of Pushkin’s syndicate, Robert McCall resumed life in Boston. Disguised beneath the routine of a Lyft driver, Robert quietly continued his mission of justice. His life remained intertwined with those in need, aided by Susan Plummer, a trusted friend and former colleague from his DIA days.

An overseas call drew Robert to Istanbul. Grace Braelick, a bookstore owner, had lost contact with her nine-year-old daughter. The child had been abducted. Robert intervened with precision. The girl was rescued, and her captors were neutralized without delay.

Back in Boston, Robert took on smaller but equally personal missions. He assisted Sam Rubinstein, an elderly Holocaust survivor, in recovering a long-lost painting of his sister. With Susan’s intelligence support, the effort was successful. Simultaneously, Robert discovered the walls of his apartment courtyard defaced. An offer from a local teen, Miles Whittaker, to paint a mural in place of the damage was accepted.

Troubled but artistically gifted, Miles found a mentor in Robert. Their bond deepened as Robert began guiding him toward a better path.

Justice for the Innocent

One night, Robert encountered a woman named Amy during a Lyft run. Disoriented and exhibiting signs of assault, she was taken by Robert to a hospital. Shortly after, the perpetrators responsible were identified and confronted. Justice was delivered swiftly and violently.

Meanwhile, in Brussels, Susan and DIA agent Dave York—Robert’s former partner—investigated what appeared to be a murder-suicide involving a fellow operative and his wife. Back at their hotel, Susan was ambushed. Her death was staged as a robbery. The assassination bore the hallmarks of a professional hit.

Robert, upon receiving the news, was unsettled. The technique used—a precise knife strike—confirmed Susan had been deliberately targeted. The Brussels incident was also judged a fabrication.

An Old Ally Revealed

During a routine fare, Robert was attacked by a passenger. The assassin failed. From the attacker’s phone, one number stood out—Dave York’s.

Robert visited Dave’s home. A confrontation followed. Dave confessed. After Robert’s presumed death, their former unit had been dissolved. Dave and the remaining team members turned to contract killings. Susan’s death had been a necessity, he claimed—she had been close to uncovering the truth behind the Brussels hit.

No forgiveness was offered. A silent promise was made. Robert would see each man punished. His only regret: he could not do it more than once.

Confronting the Killers

Dave’s team—Kovac, Ari, and Resnik—was systematically approached. Before striking, Robert protected those closest to him. At Susan’s home, Brian Plummer was targeted. Robert intervened just in time.

Back in Boston, Dave and Kovac entered Robert’s apartment. Miles, painting nearby, was caught in their trap. Monitoring from a distance, Robert guided Miles to a hidden safe room. A call to Dave was made. The apartment was left, and Dave seized Miles as leverage.

Storm in Brant Rock

Dave correctly deduced Robert’s next move—he had returned to his old hometown of Brant Rock, now evacuated due to an approaching hurricane. The town became the battleground.

Kovac, Ari, and Resnik spread out to find him. One by one, Robert struck. Kovac was impaled with a harpoon. Ari was dispatched using twin knives. Resnik was lured into a bakery rigged to explode with flour and fire. His own stun grenade completed the fatal trap.

The Final Confrontation

Only Dave remained. From a watchtower, he taunted Robert, revealing that Miles was tied and gagged in the trunk of a car. As shots rang out, Robert used the storm as cover. A bullet to the tires disabled Dave’s final threat.

Blown by wind, Dave fell to the ground. In anger, he shouted about Robert’s failures—to save Susan, to rescue Miles. A final confrontation ensued atop the tower.

Robert overpowered Dave. The knife used on Susan was taken. Dave was stabbed in the abdomen, then slashed across the back of the neck. His body was cast into the sea.

Miles was rescued. Inside Robert’s home, both waited out the storm, tending to their injuries.

Healing and Closure

Life slowly resumed in Boston. The painting once lost was returned to Sam Rubinstein, bringing long-awaited closure. Miles completed his mural and returned to school, his focus now directed toward art.

Neighbors noticed the change. Fatima observed the finished mural. A sense of calm had returned.

From his restored home, Robert looked out over the sea. Though storms still gathered on the horizon, peace, for the moment, had returned.
