A Day at the Races Turns Deadly
College student Nick O’Bannon visits the McKinley Speedway with his girlfriend Lori Milligan and their friends Hunt Wynorski and Janet Cunningham. The group is eager to enjoy their semester break. The atmosphere is electric as cars zoom past the grandstands.
Suddenly, Nick has a chilling premonition. In his vision, a terrible accident occurs on the track. Debris flies into the stands, triggering a deadly collapse. Panic overtakes him. Desperate to escape, he causes a commotion, convincing several spectators to leave. Among them are Lori, Hunt, Janet, racist tow truck driver Carter Daniels, mother Samantha Lane, mechanic Andy Kewzer, his girlfriend Nadia Monroy, and security guard George Lanter.
As they make their way out, Nadia, still berating the group, meets a gruesome fate. A rogue tire flies from the racetrack, decapitating her instantly.
Death’s Chain Reaction Begins
Days after the accident, Carter Daniels takes revenge into his own hands. Blaming George for preventing him from saving his wife, he drives to George’s home to burn a cross on his lawn.
But Death has other plans. A gust of wind knocks a horseshoe onto Carter’s truck radio, turning it on. War’s Why Can’t We Be Friends? starts playing as his truck moves on its own. The towing chain comes loose and hooks onto his feet. Carter is dragged helplessly down the street as the sparks ignite the chain. Within moments, an explosion erupts, killing him.
The next day, Samantha Lane walks out of a beauty salon. She enjoys the fresh air, unaware of her fate. A lawnmower in the distance runs over a rock, sending it flying at full speed. The projectile strikes her eye, killing her instantly.
Nick and Lori learn of these deaths. Their eerie similarities to past disasters convince Nick that Death is still hunting them. He and Lori turn to George for help. Together, they search for Andy, the next target.
A Race Against Time
They find Andy at his mechanic shop the next day. But their warning comes too late. A carbon dioxide tank explodes, launching Andy through a metal fence. His body is torn apart.
Nick has another vision. This time, he sees that water is involved in Hunt and Janet’s deaths. He and George split up to save them.
George and Lori find Janet first. She is trapped in a car wash, drowning inside her vehicle. In a desperate struggle, they manage to pull her out in time.
Nick arrives at the country club, but he is too late. Hunt, unknowingly, activated a pool’s drainage system. Before he realizes what’s happening, he is sucked underwater. The pressure builds until his organs are violently ripped out through the drain.
Death Strikes Again
Days pass. Nick watches a news report and discovers another survivor, Jonathan Groves. Unlike his vision, Jonathan never moved seats due to Nick’s intervention. Realizing Death’s design has shifted, Nick and George rush to the hospital where Jonathan is recovering.
They are moments too late. An overflowing bathtub causes the ceiling to collapse. Jonathan is crushed beneath it, sealing his fate.
As they leave, Nick experiences another vision. This time, a massive explosion will erupt at the mall, killing Lori and Janet. Before he can warn George, an ambulance speeds down the street. It strikes George, killing him instantly.
Nick races to the mall. He frantically tries to prevent the explosion. Despite being pinned by a nail gun, he succeeds in stopping a fire from reaching a cluster of flammable barrels. His actions save everyone in the building.
A False Sense of Safety
Two weeks later, Nick, Lori, and Janet gather at a café. They believe they have escaped Death’s grasp. As they celebrate, Nick notices a series of strange omens.
A horrifying realization dawns on him. The chain of events since the speedway disaster has led them to this very moment. They were never meant to survive.
Before he can warn them, tragedy strikes. A scaffold collapses outside. A truck swerves to avoid it, crashing through the café. In an instant, Nick, Lori, and Janet are killed.
Death’s design is complete.
